The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It's a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking certain of the more advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
During testing it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on medium-pile carpet and pet hair on hard floors. It does not use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do, to map your home.
- IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It comes with a variety of features and incredible cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is built into the base of charging. It doesn't lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's not able to work with plush or high-pile carpets however iRobot promises that the next models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which will allow it to hug walls and furniture. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common, but we found it to be only marginally superior to circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ has an advanced filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price cost.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM to map your interior of your home. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your whole home efficiently possible. Its vac settings are just as effective as those on higher-end models, and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibration pad.
The only issue is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's an acceptable cost to pay if are looking for one of the top robots available. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.
In terms of the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than high-powered ones, create minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and then move away whenever it comes across one.

This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your home or in the event that you have to regularly get rid of clutter like clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, taking debris from both carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It can also remove wet spills but I would suggest drying them with a cloth before sending the robot into.
